Since when does 58% = 100%?

Whoops! You're out of space. You are currently using 100% of your 1 GB quota for photos.
Yet when I open the storage and plan area it shows:
1 GB of Picasa (58% used)

I have no photos stored in Picasa and I wish a well meaning person had never downloaded the program as I've rarely used it.

I've read that if I delete Picasa entirely, every photo I've ever posted in my blogs will also disappear - is this true?

Any help appreciated.

OK I think this relates to Picasa (online) and your Blogger as opposed to what's on your harddrive. It's to do with PicasaWeb isn't it? Can you log in there and see what's there and yes from what I understand, it's a hosting service so if you delete from there you will delete the image from the blog. But there might be duplicates or unwanted things. Do a Google on "Whoops! You're out of space. You are currently using 100% of your 1 GB quota for photos." and there is some bits and pieces of info which may help. This seems to have some good conversation..esp the comment about identifying the larger images and rescaling them. Sounds like they can be auto resized.?

P.S. I'm with Mr Wellmeaning .. Picasa best program since sliced bread. However, I do believe what your error relates to is the online version of Picasa which is connected to your blog. Not the Picasa on your computer.

thanks Michelle - I owe you - again ;-)
I'll try to find some time and sort it out. Last resort is to buy some storage.

I certainly will let you know Hilary.

Hmmmm, here's a bit more:

Now to find how to automatically resize my blog photos

ok this is odd, but it works! If I make an album in G+ and take the photos from there they upload with no problem. It seems that when they go into G+ they're automatically resized and don't count towards the upload limit.

It's double handling I know, but it got me over the immediate issue. I was also able to write the next post directly from G+ and post it from there.

Given that you've said Picasa is good Michelle, and I KNOW how good you are with this stuff, I'll give it a bit more of a look and I should also be able to easily resize from there. Resizing is something I've never considered and having fewer pixels isn't important to me.

Yes it may be important depending on ur internet provider. some of them r sneaky and count uploads aswell as downloads in ur data usage. Its also faster uploading.

Michelle, I don't think I've really embraced digital yet - I was brought up with Kodak film and "real" cameras and it's still an absolute wonder to me that you don't have to carry film and keep it in the frig anymore ;-)

I love it, but I don't remember about pixels and all that 'stuff", but I can see it makes sense with upload times etc. Thanks yet again!
